ATTENTION! Each student who comes to their next lesson with a report that they and their parent read this gets...wait for it...a PENNY! ( It'll be worth it!) Parent Expectations Ask questions, "What was the "one thing" you learned today?" Support or provide (depending on age of child) passive listening for 20 min a day Applaud and compliment efforts being made by child Encourage daily practice Please note, the way that Dr. Suzuki has designed his music teaching curriculum is akin to the way a child learns a language--immersion first then mechanics. Think of it this way, first we build the car then we drive it. In Suzuki music training, the role of the parent is to help the child build their car or vocal repertoire or songs at home, and in lessons they will learn how to drive or sing those songs.
